Physical
challenges don’t have to stand between you and a full life, in
which you can do nearly anything mobile people can do. The days
where disabled people had to wait for someone else to do certain
tasks for them are over. There are many disabled people living
on their own and driving their own cars with very little or no
assistance.
Wheel chair
accessories are there to make the life of the disabled person
safer and more comfortable. While manufacturers focus on
practicality and functionality, when designing accessories, they

A saddle bag can
be strapped to the armrest and there is also a bag made
specifically to attach underneath the wheelchair. These bags are
easy storage space for personal items such as cell phones and
wallets. A wheel chair backpack is strapped to the back of the
wheel chair and can also be used for personal items or even
small shopping items.
Wheel Chair Trays and Cup
Holders
A tray can slide
into or be attached to one or both of the armrests and makes
eating or writing easier. Drink holders clamp onto the wheel
chair and there is also a hands-free type available for people
who have limited mobility in their arms or hands.
Wheel Chair Tires
If the wheel
chair is used on different surfaces you might need to have
different sets of tires, for example gravel or sand. While the
tires are manufactured with safety and functionality as the main
objective they are also made to look pretty and funky. They come
in all different colors and thicknesses.

To prevent people
who have limited or no control over the upper body from falling
out of the wheel chair, seat belts can be added to the wheel
chair. It is also a good idea for small or active children that
might be in a wheel chair temporarily because of leg injuries or
after surgery.

These are
extremely important for comfort. There are also covers and
cushions that can be added to the arm and foot rests to make it
even more comfortable.
Wheel Chair Portable Ramp
While it is not
actually part of the wheel chair itself, it is very useful to
have a portable ramp with you for that occasional step or
difficult area where the wheel chair can’t just be pushed or
moved onto.

Most sport
activities are as accessible to wheel chair users as to any
other person. Sport wheel chairs are specially designed to
assist users in the sport of their choice. Special accessories
such as sport cushions and tires, made for optimal performance
on the surface where the sport is played, are available.

purchase. The correct size and fitting is necessary for you to
be perfectly comfortable and for your wheel chair to perform at
its best.
